Uni is a monitor style 40 liter bass reflex cabinet for any Feastrex 5" driver. I have tuned the design to achieve balanced performance from a compact package.
I source handmade 5" Feastrex "beta" cone full range drivers directly from Akiyama-san, the builder/owner of Feastrex, in Nirasaki Japan. I have the entry level NF5ex in the demonstration room speakers but other 5" Feastrex models will work in these cabinets.
Monitor type Uni's are now compatible with the Seamount Sand-Filled Floor stand design for the ultimate in anchored detail from a full range, all paper cone single driver. Frequency response 41hz - 20khz.
The Feastrex Uni is also compatible with the Benthic passive subwoofer system for the most compact solution to bass extension. Custom subwoofer solutions can also be discussed prior to ordering. Some Feastrex enthusiasts (like Akiyama-san himself) feel that the Feastrex drivers do not require a subwoofer, and I agree with him. However, as an American audio designer, I am aware that some people might feel that the 5” Feastrex could benefit from a fine quality subwoofer like an SVS 12” SB 2000 or better. Even horn loaded subwoofers could be considered as a viable option with any Feastrex driver - they are that liquid smooth and fast in bass transients.
However, we feel that it is very unlikely that Feastrex users would employ a subwoofer with any of the Feastrex 9” fullrange driver models, which we can also source. The Blumenstein Feastrex 9” cabinet is also an option.
Suffice it to say, there are many options, and we provide personalized support to help you achieve your goals with the longest lineage (back to the 1940’s!), most exotic and daring in approach, highest-end full range driver brand in the world. (No, this is not an exaggeration). visit Feastrex.jp.
Blumenstein Feastrex Uni fullrange speaker enclosures are each custom built to order and take approximately 3-4 months to complete. This is also roughly the typical lead time for me to receive and test your pair of acoustically tested and T/S parameter confirmed Feastrex drivers from Feastrex HQ in Nirasaki, Japan.
