We made these proof of concept Mako Alnico prototypes a few years ago but never released them and kept them as reference full range drivers, continually tuning and refining them until they became a reference to voice our other models to. We eventually decided not to put these into formal production because we shifted focus over to the Abby II which is a bit more efficient, maximizing compatibility with low power SET amps which have become increasingly popular. The drivers are the venerable Fostex F120A. Frequency response is nearly flat between 70hz and 13khz. We recommend a pair of Cricket supertweeters (on 0.68 ufd capacitors) as well as a subwoofer or two (something like the Active or Passive Barnacle) to cover the region below 70 hz.
